It's July, and that means another good ol' fashion competition. Think you got what it takes to be the coveted Bay Area Videographer of the Year? Only one will win this honor, and you can only win by submitting your best videos from the last 12 months.

We hold these competitions quarterly, so you won't want to miss this meeting... as long as you got what it takes! Details are below.

Also, prior to the meeting will be a special Panasonic GH2 Users Meetup. If you own the GH1/2 or are considering it and want to chat with fellow owners, plan to show up an hour early to the meeting.

Program #1: BAPVA Exhibition Night
Submit your Best Videos!

This will be the second exhibition of 2011 and scores will count towards the Bay Area Professional Videographer of the Year award. The competition is tough this year, we have a ton of talent in our association. If you think you have what it takes, follow the instructions below and plan on submitting your best video.

There is a new procedure in place for exhibition submissions. We will be accepting all projects on USB formatted thumb drives (or portable drives). File format is Vimeo HD quality. I believe most of you are already familiar with Vimeo, but just in case you need additional information and edit-platform specific help, you can find it here: http://www.vimeo.com/forums/topic:3671

For reference purposes, our projector is an NEC NP901W (720p native).

Submissions can be in event, corporate or educational categories and should be limited to 4 minutes. Please keep identifying information (studio/company name) off the thumb drive, project title, and internal graphics so that they can be judged subjectively.

Also new for 2011 will be an "American Idol" style judging that will add an audience-favorite component to the scoring.
