I hope you are surviving the summer and are ready for another great BAPVA meeting. This month we are going to shift gears a bit and focus in on some corporate productions skills.

Our very own Steve Young and Wayne Hess will be demonstrating how to shoot a green screen interview or talking-head on-site, with a portable setup along with a quick editing tutorial.

We will also have time set aside for a Swap Meet, so please bring gear that you want to sell, trade or just give to Oren.

Program #1: Swap Meet
From 6:30pm to 7:30pm

The first annual BAPVA Swap Meet will be the first event of the evening. Bring gear you want to sell, trade or donate. Pricing and details are up to you, so make sure to do your homework before the meeting.

BAPVA will not assist, participate in or guarantee any transactions that takes place between attendees.

Program #2: Green Screen on the Go
Steve Young and Wayne Hess

Our resident Green Screen experts Steve Young, of Videografix and Wayne Hess of Star66 Video will be demonstrating the best equipment, techniques and tricks when shooting a Talking Head or Interview with a Green Screen background. This will be a portable, onsite setup when  at a clients location.

The agenda would be:

  • Setup (minimal as opposed to full studio setup)
  • Choice of green vs. blue
  • Camera details
  • Lighting fundamentals
  • Shoot a presenter against the green-screen (short BAPVA testimonial etc.)
  • Move video to laptop editing station (Premiere Pro 5.0)
  • Show how to chroma-key over a pre-selected background.
  • Explain what certain keying parameters do.
  • Encode final version, and show on monitor.
